THE PLEDGE
I promise to start living in a more Pretty Nostalgic way
I promise to start living in a more Pretty Nostalgic way
I will try to spend wisely…
Buying only things I really need or that I genuinely want.
Thinking carefully about everything I buy and where my money goes.
Supporting British made goods and services as well as buying, handmade, second
hand and up-cycled goods wherever possible.
Paying a fair price and putting my money directly into the hands of as
many makers and suppliers as I can.
I will try to waste less…
Making do with what I have already, thinking creatively, recycling
and repurposing materials to meet new needs.
Creating as many things as I can myself, learning new crafts and skills,
providing for my home and family through my own efforts.
Looking after my possessions, investing in the best quality materials
and
maintaining and repairing them so that they last
I will try to appreciate more...
Remembering family, friends and community and those who have made me who
I am.
Being grateful to everything and everyone that inspires me and makes me happy.
Anticipating and savouring things I want and aspire to achieve, not
always choosing instant gratification.
Respecting skill, passion, quality and effort over quantity and price.
Realising that it is the thought, time and effort put into things that
really counts.
