Vintage Book Club

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our Vintage Book Club: a chance to pore over dog-eared copies of old classics with a friend or a stranger, chew over illustrious themes, mysterious characters and heroic tales of adventure…
There’s no better way of exploring the social history of a particular era than to read the fiction of its day. Literature is life – it reflects the way people thought and felt, and the customs and situations of the time the author put pen to paper. Reading a book that is decades, or even centuries old, is like stepping back in time.

So, if you share our fascination for old books, and you love any excuse for a good ol’ natter and perhaps even a heated debate about whether Heathcliff is a hero or a villain, or if Mr Bennett is the voice of Jane Austen, then join our Vintage Book Club. You can go along to one of our regional book groups, or even set up your own in your home town.

This month’s theme is Children’s Adventure Classics: tales of swash buckling, den building, lashings of ginger beer and magical, faraway lands.
Email our features editor, Abi with your name and address to register your interest, and we will get right back to you with more information and a book list to choose from.
